All rooms at the Nursery are used to achieve
a variety of objectives but have separate child centered concepts.
Pre-School
Room This
is the central room with much to offer in a developmental atmosphere
that is fun for the over three children within our care. Children
aged three and upwards are able to access a variety of activities
in this room which include construction materials and a role
play area. Daily art activities are offered to all children,
which includes creative painting, gluing, sand and water play.
Toddler
Room Mainly
used by children aged two to three during activity times providing
them with age and stage appropriate opportunities. Children
learn through interaction with others and exploration of the
world around them. During their day they have the opportunity
to play outside, participate in story and singing time along
with a variety of creative and role -play experiences being
offered.
Baby
Room The
baby room is a light airy room dedicated to children up to 2
years old. It has a warm welcoming atmosphere with wonderful
colourful child centered murals and equipment. There is a large
range of natural materials for children to explore as well as
a quiet area for those who want to have a quiet few minutes.
Sleep
area This
area of the nursery provides opportunity for those who wish
to have a rest during the day. All cots and beds have mattresses
fitted to safety standards and linen is washed weekly. We provide
calm music to help your child relax and unwind. The area is
closely monitored by our nursery nurses.
Rumpus
Room This
room provides a safe indoor padded play area where children
can enjoy the soft play environment. It encourages your child’s
locomotion, balance and releases their energy…well some
of it.
Dining
area This
area allows social interaction during meal times and provides
the perfect opportunity to develop good table manners along
with a knowledge of food. This is further encouraged through
participating with cooking activities and the preparation of
snacks.
Outdoor
area We have both grassed and playground
style areas with space for pushing, pulling and biking toys.
Outdoor activities encourage mobility, co-ordination and independence.
Outdoor pursuits are encouraged daily with supervised play
activities and games. Role play opportunities are offered
in our “Balamory” style houses along with opportunities
to grow some of our own produce in our garden area.
